2003 Stewart Stevenson 4×4 Type 3 Wildland 150/800/foam (W1595)
This Stewart & Stevenson M1078 is a military surplus vehicle acquired by the District in 2018 and completely refurbished from top to bottom, including body rework and interior/exterior paint. It is equipped as a NWCG Type 3 brush engine with a custom Cascade Fire Equipment slip-in unit, 800 gallons of water, storage boxes, hose reels, and a 150 GPM Honda-powered single-stage pump. Plumbing includes rear 2.5″ suction, rear 1.5″ discharge, side hose reels, and a cab-controlled front bumper turret. It also features a capable Caterpillar and Allison powertrain platform.
Recent Maintenance
This apparatus has been meticulously maintained by certified EVT mechanics and kept operational as part of the District’s brush/wildland response fleet. The Cascade Fire Equipment slip-in unit was custom-installed with rear pump controls and front cab controls. The truck is equipped with a full Whelen emergency lighting package, CenCom smart light and siren controls, 360-degree LED emergency lighting, Liberty II light bar, Opticom, and wiring for two mobile radios (not included). This vehicle is being surplused simply due to fleet standardization, as it does not match the rest of our fleet.
